So...

I went to a wedding yesterday. It was the wedding of my longtime mentor Wendy Wogan (now Wendy Wogan Williams). It was a lot of fun and I made friends with two of Wendy's new nieces, Abby and Renee. I enjoyed the ceremony and the reception was fun as well. It brought back memories of my mom's wedding as I am sure that is the last one I went to. I got back really late last night and still haven't taken a shower so I still have makeup on my face and hairspray in my hair. But other than that my summer has been pretty chill so far.

I am working as much as I can at my mom's work and I might start working fro Wendy tutoring her two sons, because they hate their current tutor. I have also finished one of my summer reading books. I don't really have any plans for the rest of the summer and I am waiting to hear back from my dad about going to his house at some point before school starts. My grandparents have been out once already this summer and are planning on coming out again. I don't know yet if I am going to be able to go to Chicago this summer, but I am hoping I will be able to fit it in. I only have one last thing to say, Yay summer!

Brian Setzer

On Saturday night, I went to see the Brian Setzer Orchestra. They were very good and it was tons of fun. The played my three favorite songs, which are Jump Jive an' Wail; Dirty Boogie; and This Cat's on a Hot Tin Roof. They also played some Stray Cats songs as well. It was just tons of fun. I got their new CD and Steve got a T-shirt. I was really glad I went.

News Update!!

Let's see, since you last heard from me a lot of stuff has happened. After I found out about my grades, my mom and I went searching for a place where I could improve my study skills, because that was the only disconnect. I have the information and the brain to do all the homework. I am just bad at managing my time and the like. So I started doing this study skills guide thing from the Virginia Tech website and I think it will really help me. The only problem is that it is built to be done during the school year. But there are still some things that I can do now that will help me when school comes around. One of them is to create a semester schedule, then a monthly schedule, then a weekly schedule and then to create a daily schedule at the beginning of each day. I am doing that even though it is harder with the absence of normal classes. I am also working my way through my three assigned reading books and I am working almost everyday so all in all this summer is going pretty well.

Okay, maybe I didn't survive finals...

I found out today that I did worse than I thought in school this last semester. I got a D- in World History and and F in both French and Chemistry. My mom and stepdad are disappointed and I am sure that my dad and my grandparents will be when they find out. I am disappointed in myself, because I know I can do better. Or I least I have to believe it to keep going. I have already started my 3 summer reading books and I think will now devote a little more focus to them in an effort to get the best grades I can next year. I am also trying to make-up my epic failure to my mom. I am going to post everyday and try to write a fully developed story once a week to train myself to work better under pressure. I am also going to work pretty much full time. I am also going to do my best to follow though with organizing and paying for my own private dance lessons. I also am going to try to motivate myself to exercise more. I am going to do all this stuff in an effort to teach myself discipline, which is the only thing missing in the equation to make me a straight-A student.

All of that is well and good, but the problem is that I say stuff like that all the time and have yet to prove it. Well, this year it is my goal to prove it and hopefully with the help of my friends and family I will accomplish that goal, before my mom sends me to military school.

I survived finals and then went to Florida

Sorry I haven't posted recently. I was really busy studying for finals and freaking out that I was going to fail something. I think I did pretty good though. But anyways I was so busy that I didn't have time to post. Then the day after school got out, Thursday June 5th. My mom and I went to Orlando, Florida. My mom had a conference, but we went early, because we wanted to go to Disney World. We got there on Thursday and went basically straight to Epcot. It was fun and I enjoyed it, but as Mom said later it was kind of like paying admission just to spend money to eat and buy stuff. There were extended hours at Epcot that night, but we didn't stay long after the park closed. Then on Friday we went to the Magic Kingdom, which is the main park in Disney World. It was fun. We went on a bunch of rides and then I lost one of my contacts on Splash Mountain. We stayed at the park for a while after I lost my glasses, I actually rode the Haunted Mansion ride while only being able to see out of one eye. Then we went back to the hotel and I got a new contact and I took a nap while mom went for a walk. Then we went to Downtown Disney to eat and look around the shops there. After all of that we went back to the Magic Kingdom to finish up our day. We had found out earlier the Pirates of the Caribbean was closed for two weeks. I was very upset, because I had been looking forward to going on the ride and seeing the changes, because they added Jack Sparrow and some of the other characters from the movie to the ride. We watched the parade and the fireworks. Then we went on some more rides and as there were extended hours at the Magic Kingdom that day we stayed at the park until 2 am. Then the next day we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios, which was pretty cool, I guess. There wasn't much to do though, so we weren't there long. We did go on the Rock and Roller Coaster, which was Areosmith themed and that was fun. I also went on the Tower of Terror which wasn't that amazing. Then we switched hotels and moved out of the Disney hotel and into the Gaylord Palms, because Mom's conference was there. I am bored now so I will tell you the rest later.
