Superman

I am officially a Superman fanatic. The new movie Superman Returns clinched it. The pictures you see here are the three top Supermen of all time: Christopher Reevee (sp?), Tom Welling, and Brandon Routh. I am in love with Superman because....He is so perfect, only Superman only the alien savior could be so perfect because he's not from Earth. Nothing, no animal, plant, machine, idea, being that came from the third rock from the Sun could be that perfect. I expect only perfection out of Superman and these three provided. In my opinion, Christopher Reevee was the first Superman, to me he is Superman. If you were to say "Superman" to me the first person, place, thing, or idea I would think of would be Christopher Reevee (Rest in Peace). I love Brandon Routh because he fits the suit. What I mean is, he stepped into Christopher Reevee's shoes and came so close to filling them he is Superman reborn. And I love Tom Welling because he is the Superman we all know and love with a twist.. He is younger and shoots from a different angle. They have changed the story a bit, but they are truthful to the most important part: the character and persona of Superman. Besides the fact that all these men are cute that is not the main part of why Superman is so loved and such a big part of our culture (although it does help), the reason is the idea of him, of a savior, who unlike Jesus we can identify with. He is not perfect, he is human, and venerable, which makes him all there more real and perfect in our eyes, because he could exist, he could be real........

Europe

I'm back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its been a while since my last post, but that is because I was in Europe. First stop, London!! It was an eight hour plane ride to get to the wonderingly bustling city of London. My two favorite things there were The War Rooms and the Reading Room in the British Museum. Next Stop, Paris!! I had so much fun there although not being able to read the ads and signs was annoying. My favorite things there were Norte Dame, Giverny, and Versailles. Last Stop, Home!! The plane ride from Paris to Dallas was 10 hours, then we had a 2 hour plane ride to Denver, and then a 4 hour car ride home. I was so glad to get home. Other things of interesty that occured on the trip: We stayed with Uncle Brian while in London and I slept on a leaking air mattress. I saw Daniel Radcliffe's school and the place where they filmed Gringotts bank. I also went to the Tower of London, the London Eye, Battersea Park, Harrod's, took a bus tour, the British Museum, the play Billy Elliot, Convent Gardens, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's, Millenium Bridge, and Greenwich while in London. We hung out with Barry and Seonaid (pronounced Shona) alot while in Paris much to my annoyance. Seonaid is a very condesending person, she often treated me like a five year old and my mom like a ten. I wrote some of the stories about that in my journal. I also went to the Effiel Tower, the Louvre, Sainte-Chappelle, the Arc de Triomphe, Mon Marte, Sacre Couer, Tuileries, Musee d'Orsay, Rue Cler, and the Orangery while in Paris. I had so much fun. I will publish pictures in my next post.
