Begin your time in Athens with a guided city walk, taking in the majestic Acropolis. Most of the buildings gracing this site date back to the Golden Age of Greece, in the 5th century BC. The Parthenon, which dominates the Acropolis, symbolizes the glory of ancient Greece. Nearby stands the Erechtheion, which is built on the site where Poseidon and Athena are said to have competed for possession of Athens.
